Swissbourne University of Technology

A leading university in various lucrative disciplines including aviation, art, architecture, design, law, and health, Swinburne University of Technology was previously known as the Eastern Suburbs Technical College. Plumbing and mechanics were the initial areas of study and training offered by this university. Academic programs at the university began to expand following World War II. Among the different programs offered were chemical engineering, chemistry, computer programming, films, and television. This school became an official university in 1992.

Campuses

Croydon Campus

It is nestled right at the foot in the of Mt Dandenong and offers TAFE courses in business, building, community services, computing, recreation, and social science. Youth programs in Croydon include the Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL), Vocational Education and Training in VCE, and First Stop, a free education guidance service.

Lilydale Campus

The Lilydale campus of Swinburne University is located in Melbourne's famous wine and tourism region, nestled amongst the Yarra Valley hills and Lilydale Lake. A variety of courses are offered, including Business, Engineering and Technology, and Horticulture.

Healesville Campus

Healesville Campus has been a part of Swinburne's community for 17 years. Located on a spacious and open campus, it fosters a supportive, relaxing and positive learning environment. Students of all ages can study at the campus, which offers flexible delivery methods. A variety of accredited educational programs are offered, including classes to build skills for returning to work and courses of personal interest. The college also offers short courses, workshops and seminars on a variety of topics. Throughout the year, local businesses and community groups can use the campus conference room and facilities for meetings, functions, and forums.

Prahran Campus

The Prahran campus provides a wealth of cultural and creative programs thanks to its cosmopolitan location and proximity to popular Chapel Street. In addition to business and circus arts, Prahran offers programs in graphic design, industrial design, and multi-media design, as well as hospitality, performing arts, and social sciences. In the design area, students can successfully transition from TAFE to University through great pathways.

Hawthorn Campus

Swinburne's Hawthorn campus houses the University's central administration and many of its research and training centres. Depending on the program, students may earn anything from a Certificate I to a PhD. Students can choose from Arts, Psychology and Social Sciences, Business, Management and Commerce, Engineering and Technology, Information and Communications Technology and Science.

Wantirna Campus

Swinburne's TAFE Division is headquartered at the Wantirna campus. Students can choose from a range of courses in areas including Business, Commerce and Management, Engineering, Horticulture, and Environmental Technology as well as Information and Communication Technology.
